National Countryside Week 2016
National Countryside Week is The Prince’s Countryside Fund’s annual awareness week and takes place from Monday 18th to Sunday 24th July. This year it aims to:
- Raise awareness and celebrate the value of the British countryside
- Highlight a number of issues including food security, sustainable farming, support for family farms and the local producer, seasonal food and British produce.
- Encourage people to come together and celebrate by having a picnic to appreciate everything that is special about the countryside and the important role it plays in all our lives.
Here at Overbury we enjoy being part of a working farm and harvesting has started in earnest with the Overbury Enterprises farming team working hard to get crops cut during this wonderful sunshine. So please don't forget to keep an eye out for large machinery and please be considerate with your parking to allow the combines and tractor access.
