Annual Overbury Street Market returns
Its our usual reminder that the wonderful street market returns to church Row on Sat 14th July. Helps can contact us or speak to Andrew John.
If you have any of the following items to donate then please contact the Estate Office on 01386 725111 to arrange collection or delivery:
- Good quality bric-a-brac (china, garden pots, small furniture items and tools. NO electrical)
- Bottles (olive oil to whiskey and everything in-between)
- Plants, seedlings,etc
- Toys or children's games
- Cakes, biscuits, preserves
- Any unusual prizes for the raffle (from sports event tickets to hampers or special bottles)
- Small children's prizes/sweets (for the children's area competitions)

Overbury Village Hall will host the bulb sale where you can buy beautiful bulbs, Christmas decorations and more as well as taking part in a raffle whilst enjoying refreshments.
This is a sell out so do get there early. The draw for the 200 club will also take place.
The ever spectacular Overbury Fireworks return on Sunday 5th November 2017 down the bottom of School Lane. Your donations to enter go to Overbury Village Hall. The refreshments provided by Friends of Overbury First School go to the school. We cannot accept card so please do bring cash for entry and the stalls.
Finally, we remind you that you are choosing to attend this event at your own risk – we will not accept responsibility for any personal injury, loss or damage to property. You must keep close control of children for their safety
The Friends of St. Faiths are a group of people who help to maintain the fabric of our lovely church by making regular donations either monthly or once each year. The funds are used to support projects such as maintaining memorial stones, repairing the gutters, replacing stonework and trimming the yew trees. These projects are essential to ensure that the church is kept in good condition so that it can be enjoyed by future generations. We are separate from the church committee who organise the day to day management of the church. The Friend’s meet once a year to discuss projects for the future year.
It would be lovely if you would like to join us for this year’s meeting which will be held on Saturday 14th October during a visit to the churches of Kilpeck and Hoarwithy.
We have booked the minibus and plan to leave Overbury at 9.30.We will visit Kilpeck in the morning; they have an audio guide which can be downloaded from their website onto a mobile phone (http://kilpeckchurch.org.uk). They also have a lot of information for visitors in the church. I have contacted a local pub, The Plough Inn at Little Dewchurch, which offers a range of lunchtime dishes, or you are welcome to bring a picnic along. In the afternoon we will visit the church at Hoarwithy which is an unusual mixture of Italianate and Romanesque Revival architecture. We should get home at about 5.30pm.

The annual summer campfire, BBQ and camp out is a popular event for all the members and their families. Plenty of food, fire and laughter. If you are not a member do join up and come along to meet everyone and have a lovely evening in the Orchard. If the weather is terrible we will move the date.
Now moved to Friday 28th July. Please note:
We'll have a campfire, please bring food and drink to eat and share. Something to sit on, things to wrap yourself and your family up in or keep dry (hopefully it won't come to that). If you'd like to camp too, you can set up during the afternoon. However, please be aware that facilities are extremely limited - this is why it is better kept to members who mostly live locally. Those who are in it for the long haul, bring breakfast for the fire in the morning.
Who is coming?
All COCO members are invited. Feel free to bring a friend but please hold off inviting the 'whole gang' - for reasons explained above we don't have facilities to host a festival! It is literally a small bunch of people, enjoying a barbeque and the orchard - not an 'organised event' as such. Having said that, if you know people who are interested in coming with a view to joining COCO then of course we would be delighted to accept their form and joining fee. See Simon S or Emma Tor the estate office for details.
The ever popular annual street market falls on Sat 8th July 2017. Come along to enjoy craft stalls, ice cream, refreshments, entertainment and catch up with your neighbours.

There will be two tractor and trailer rides running: 9am and 11am.

The farm tour will take visitors around Overbury Enterprises with talks from experts about various areas including Overbury Stallions, Overbury Grasshoppers (Day Nursery), arable and sheep farming.

Lambing Live tours will be run again to visit the lambing sheds at Overbury Farm and see the lambs being born, learn more from Reg the Shepherd and Farmer Jake, enjoy activities for all the family and have tea and cake at the Village Hall.

Parking is free. Children under 16 are free (must be accompanied by an adult) and adult tickets are priced at £7. Tickets available from Overbury Village Hall on the day. No set times, tractor and trailers will depart once each ride is full.
Pregnant ladies can enjoy the village hall activities and refreshments but sadly cannot go to the lambing sheds due to health and safety guidelines from the government.
Don't forget your wellies for the foot dip! Do ring us on 01386 725111 if you need to discuss disabled access.
A jumble sale will take place at the Overbury Village Hall to raise funds for flowers for an Overbury St Faiths Church charity event in June.
If you have any jumble to add (no electrical items please) please contact Angelina Rooney on 01386 725585 and she can discuss storage of them.
County Councils are very strict about admission deadlines so please ensure your options are registered before this date. Any applications received after 15 Jan are classed as late.
Perfect opportunity to clear out unused toys. Event run by sundial class and enjoyed by the children. This is NOT OPEN to visitors or public but they would very much welcome any toys or donations to the sale. please drop them into the school office before Friday 13th Jan 2017.
