Whitcombe Garden

Over an acre of walled garden with fruit trees, weeping beech, acers and robinia is interwoven with overflowing borders planted for shape, colour and profusion. Arum lilies, iris, hostas and multitudes of primulas line the stream behind a secret walk and bridge to wish upon. Listed pigsties, statuesque yew and a multitude of roses compete for interest! An acre of walled garden set in the beautiful Cotswold village of Overbury. Large herbaceous borders, around the pergola, comprise a variety of schemes, plantings and colour. Two shrubberies and a further five formal borders set beside gravel paths complement the informality and the surpise. A fast flowing stream is another feature, surrounded by primulas, arum lilies and bog plants, where the sound of water makes peaceful and idyllic reflection easy.

Conderton Manor Garden

Conderton Manor was built in the 1680s, but the garden today dates from the 1960s, when it was extended to it's present seven acres. The swimming pool and tennis court were built at this time and the yew hedges and pleached limes planted. The garden was landscaped to maximise the glorious views towards the Cotswold and down the Vale of Gloucester.

The Old Kitchen Garden has been redesigned since 1990 and now has huge arches covered in roses, vitis, clematis; double rose borders with perennials and buddleias to fill the 'roses pause' and attract the butterflies. The wall has recently been planted with numerous climbing roses.  Over the past 30 years many unusual trees have been planted in the garden and adjoining orchard - including varieties of acer, sorbus and betula in particular. Also different quercus and tilia and fagus varieties.

7-acre garden with magnificent views of the Cotswolds. Flowering cherries and bulbs in spring; many unusual trees and shrubs giving yr-round interest. Formal terrace with clipped box parterre; huge rose and clematis arches underplanted with perennials; mixed borders of roses and herbaceous plants in former kitchen garden; bog bank and quarry garden
This is a garden to visit all year round with particular highlights in spring for the flowering cherries and tree paeonies, and roses in summer, and October/November for spectacular leaf and berry colour.
